OMJ Jazz & Etno: Emmi Kuittinen Wed 11.11.2026 19:00 Mallassauna Pikisaarentie 15, 90100 Oulu Duration approx. 1,5 h (including intermission) Emmi Kuittinen is a singer, folk musician and doctoral researcher at the Sibelius Academy, Uniarts Helsinki and Controversial Folklore -project funded by Kone Foundation. She specializes in the Karelian and Ingrian singing styles and laments. In her artistic research she studies sorrow in the context of folk singing. Emmi is educated as a Master of Music and Music Educator, and beside her research and artistic work she teaches and gives courses in folk singing. 18:00 -- Lecture on the Karelian lament tradition (approx. 30 min) 18:30 -- Intermission (approx. 15 min) 18:45 -- Concert (approx. 40 min) Learn more about the Jazz & Ethno concert series of Oulu Music Festival at omj.fi.
