Swing Symphony SEASON CONCERT VIII Wed 11.11. at 18:30 Madetoja Hall Rumon Gamba conductor Oulu All Star Big Band Oulu Sinfonia Program: Wynton Marsalis: Swing Symphony nro 3 (Finnish Premiere) Trumpetist Wynton Marsalis with nine Grammys and a Pulitzer Prize in Music, composer and an influential cultural figure is a true jazz icon. His Swing Symphony, takes listeners on a road trip across the United States, passing through New York, St. Louis, New Orleans and Los Angeles. Smoky bars, sinful saxophones, Prohibition-era indulgences and urban optimism -- this hour-long journey through American musical history keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. The evening continues with the Awing for Singles concert club at Restaurant Preludi, starting at 8 PM. Head start at Restaurant Preludi at 18.00. Discussion of the forthcoming concert.
