Sobre este livro

What if everything we think we know about the origins of civilisation is wrong?

More than 12,000 years ago, at the end of the last Ice Age, humanity's story may have changed forever. A giant comet entered our solar system and broke into multiple fragments across the globe, causing a rapid global warming that wiped out all life on earth - or so we thought.

In his million-copy selling book Fingerprints of the Gods, Graham Hancock introduced readers to the theory that an advanced civilisation existed before the end of the last Ice Age and was largely destroyed by the global catastrophe. Now, Hancock revisits his theory with new archaeological discoveries and the latest scientific research that shows, beyond reasonable doubt, that not only did an advanced civilisation exist and flourish during the Ice Age but that some of them survived the catastrophic comet.

Hancock theorises that these survivors - known to later cultures by names such as 'the Sages', 'the Magicians', 'the Shining Ones', and 'the Mystery Teachers of Heaven', travelled the world in their great ships doing all in their power to keep the spark of civilisation burning. They settled at key locations - Gobekli Tepe in Turkey, Baalbek in the Lebanon, Giza in Egypt, ancient Sumer, Mexico, Peru and across the Pacific in Indonesia but much of what we knew about their lives had been lost to time, until now.

Magician of the Gods takes readers on a globe-spanning investigation into one of history's greatest mysteries: what is human civilisation is much older than we think?
