His son Joko, who doesn't listen, spends too much time with the unreliable Adi and his sister Sumiati runs away from her job as a housemaid because she wants to return to Indonesia. Sugiman asks for help from his employer, Sarip, a construction company boss and father to Adi, to arrange for his sister to board an illegal boat, but there is a price to be paid. At the same time, he must protect Sumiati from the police by hiding her in a cheap hotel.
