In the premiere episode of the investigative series Revelando, the documentary dives into a highly polarizing and urgent contemporary debate: the socioeconomic rhetoric questioning whether low-income women should have children. The production traces a striking historical line between modern elitist mindsets and Brazil's dark history of slavery, when plantation owners strictly regulated the reproduction of enslaved women. The investigation exposes the brutal historical trade of wet nurses, the erasure of Black and impoverished mothers in the nation's history, and how these deep-rooted structures still dictate privilege and prejudice today.
