The Mirror of Simple Souls

Written in the thirteenth century by a woman who gave her life for her faith, The Mirror of Simple Souls is a daring and beautiful exploration of the soul's journey to union with God. In this modern-English edition, Marguerite Porete's poetic dialogue between Love, the Soul, and Reason is rendered in clear, inviting language that preserves the original's depth and spirit. Readers are guided through the seven stages of spiritual progress, the radical letting-go of self-will, and the serene freedom of a soul wholly surrendered to divine love. This edition includes an introduction, a biographical note, and helpful appendices, making the classic accessible to today's seekers. Whether you are new to mysticism or a longtime student of the spiritual life, this timeless work offers a path to inner peace and transformation. Part of The Sacred Wisdom Library.
