The Order of the Arcane Hand

The goal? Recruit reclusive sorcerers all around the world to join their gang of misfits.

The problems? Too many to count.

Alfred Bravider, former heir of one of the most prominent magical merchant families, has been kicked out of his old life. His father thinks his blindness is too much of a barrier in a tough business, but Alfred plans to seek out the far-flung members of the Order of the Arcane Hand, a mysterious group of sorcerers who lost their sight in the war. Moreover, in swinging modern Atlantis, he's cultivating new celebrity buyers that old guard dealers don't think twice about, even if it means he has to endure some noisy, smoky parties. At least some of the team is having fun—in fact, his bodyguard George might be having a little too much fun.

His first target? Kasi Barnell, rumored to have a potion that enhances charisma—perfect to sell to cute little actresses and rock stars. It's also a good excuse to take a vacation to Sunara, a city of great music and even better food. But when they find Kasi, he's going senile—and targeted by a local gang exploiting his wares. Alfred's crew wants to help the old man, but these guys aren't playing around, forcing Alfred, his fiancee Livonya, and Gem, his new ally and kind-hearted father of three, to confront their capacity for violence.

Meanwhile, Livonya has her own troubles as her past life memories keep bubbling up. Once upon a time, she did terrible things for terrible men—and she wants this life to go another way, to help people and redeem herself for past sins. She also wants a normal young woman's life—concerts with girlfriends, cute dresses, her herb garden, and romance. But is marrying Alfred leading her right back into the same life?

THE ORDER OF THE ARCANE HAND is set in a magical world that has modernized to an alternate 1960s-1970s fantasy setting and although it has higher stakes than a true cozy fantasy, the focus is on slice of life, comfort, healing, humor, and found family.
