Grift Coast: An Ellis Kane Mystery

Welcome back to Turtle Key.

The beaches are beautiful. The locals are eccentric. And someone is trying to bulldoze a century-old family farm.

Former Houston detective Ellis Kane expected his new life as a Florida private investigator to be quieter than homicide. Instead, he's hired by the Creely family after bulldozers arrive with court orders to demolish the home they've owned for generations. The paperwork appears legitimate.

The problem?

None of it's real.

As Kane digs deeper, forged documents lead to powerful developers, crooked officials, and a conspiracy worth millions. Before long, witnesses start turning up dead, someone wants Kane out of the picture, and proving the truth may cost him far more than his investigator's fee.

Fortunately, Kane has a few advantages: a sharp eye for scams, a stubborn streak a mile wide, loyal friends, and a town so delightfully bizarre that sometimes the weirdest thing in Florida... is the only honest clue.

Packed with laugh-out-loud humor, unforgettable characters, surprising twists, and edge-of-your-seat suspense, Grift Coast is the second Ellis Kane Mystery—a Florida whodunit where sunshine, corruption, and absurdity collide — perfect for fans of Carl Hiaasen, Dave Barry, and Janet Evanovich.
