About this event

Original description

Hailing from Cut Knife, Saskatchewan, Jake Vaadeland is enjoying an extraordinary year. The singer, songwriter and self-taught multi-instrumentalist recently took home the Juno Award for Traditional Roots Album of the Year for his acclaimed record Retro Man... More and More, as well as a Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) Award for Alternative Album of the Year for One More Dollar to Go. As a dynamic touring artist with a growing international profile and global footprint, Jake made history as the youngest artist to achieve 'Road Gold' Certification, selling more than 25,000 tickets across Canada in a single year. Alongside his exceptional band, The Sturgeon River Boys, he has brought his distinctive sound to audiences across the UK, Europe, the United States and Canada, establishing himself as one of the most compelling emerging artists on the contemporary roots and country scene. Blending bluegrass, rockabilly and traditional country with his own unmistakable style, Jake delivers performances that are as authentic as they are exhilarating. His shows are crowd pleasing, high-energy, infectious and irresistibly entertaining---an unforgettable, foot-stomping celebration of music that leaves audiences captivated from the first note to the last.
