Originalbeschreibung

For the first time in two decades, acclaimed guitarist and composer Sir Richard Bishop returns to Australia for a rare run of intimate performances.

Best known as a founding member of the legendary Sun City Girls, Bishop has spent more than forty years exploring the outer reaches of folk, improvisation, psychedelia and global musical traditions. His solo work has earned international acclaim for its virtuosic guitar playing, adventurous spirit and singular musical vision.

Fresh from the release of 2025's acclaimed Hillbilly Ragas on Drag City, and with the new album Hillbilly Erotica set for release in 2026, Bishop continues to push his distinctive approach to the guitar into new territory.

Renowned for performances that balance intricate composition with fearless spontaneity, Bishop remains one of the most celebrated and uncompromising voices in underground music.

Don't miss this rare opportunity to witness a true original on his first Australian tour in 20 years.
