Our hearts were made to sing to Jesus.

Music has always been to core to faith. It instructs hearts and restores souls. In Hymns of Jesus Christ Our Lord, David and Barbara Leeman include 55 hymns that sing of the suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus.

This book helps us readers to:

• Engage with and understand these three primary titles: Jesus, The Christ, and Lord.
• Sing hymns that exclaim and, in a small sense, experience the wonder of these three titles.
• Learn from saints of the faith. Horatio Bonar, Issac Watts, and more modern composers such as Keith and Kristyn Getty, Stuart Townend, Timothy Dudley Smith, Michael Perry, and Christopher Idle.

Each hymn is presented on a single book spread—the left-hand page providesa brief biography of the text’s author and the melody’s composer as well as a devotional summary to aid singing with understanding. The right-hand page is hymnal-like with the melody and all stanzasfor simple playing and singing.

This carefully curated collection points our gaze solidly to Jesus—the Son of God, anointed One, and risen Lord. These classic and modern songs focus on knowing and praising God’s Son and should be included in every Christian’s hymn repertoire.
