Vacant Skeletons

A gripping, deeply emotional story of public disaster, generational trauma, and the unbreakable bond of maternal love.
Sometimes, the sturdiest seawall is not poured in concrete—it is woven from forgiveness.
Holly Fitzroy is a master of crisis management. Through obsessive precision and hyper-control, she shields thousands from nature’s wrath. Yet beneath her impenetrable exterior lies a wounded daughter still haunted by her biological mother’s mysterious disappearance in the aftermath of September 11, 2001.
When Super Hurricane Maelstrom threatens to level the coastal city of Providence, Holly is thrust into a desperate race against time. But the tempest raging offshore is only the beginning. The sudden emergence of a quiet glass mosaic artist unearths a twenty-five-year-old family secret—of a historic deception, an unspeakable postpartum medical tragedy, and two mothers who secretly sacrificed everything to protect one child.
