The Verge of Darkness

A great battle is on the horizon. The Western Alliance has scored a victory, but the enemy is far from beaten. As the Eastern Union tightens the noose on the Kingdom of Dagland, Fordain and his companions must race against time and the elements to seek the help of a Flamewing and the fabled Promise Stone in the farthest reaches of the High North. And amid the mountainous homeland of his ancestors, Fordain must choose between the life he desires and the life fate has laid out before him. But winter is not the only threat as the vengeful agents of Lord Caritus seek to reclaim the initiative and bring the West to its knees.
