The Rise of Nagash

A Warhammer: The Old World Omnibus

Nagash, priest king of Khemri, embarks upon a quest for immortality that will spark a war, destroy an empire, and unleash a plague of undeath that will blight the world forever.

READ IT BECAUSE

Even gods start somewhere, and the God of Death is no different. Nagash bestrides the Mortal Realms like a colossus, but he was once a humble (well, okay, maybe not humble) priest king who changed the world forever by sheer will. Travel back to the World-that-Was and find out how in a trio of classic novels and a short story.

THE STORY

Nagash was the first necromancer and the supreme lord of undeath. He wrested the secrets of dark magic from the elves and perverted them to suit his ends. When the priest-kings of Nehekhara stood united against him, he broke their armies and sacked their cities. He raised the largest army of the dead the world has ever known and became an immortal dark god. His deeds are legend. This is his story.

Explore the Nehekharan empire, flourishing in the hot desert lands far to the south of the Old World in Nagash the Sorcerer. Unbeknown to its people, this mighty kingdom is about to be shaken to its very foundations…

Nagash the Unbroken finds Nagash licking his wounds in the mountains of Nehekhara, having suffered defeat on the battlefield at the hands of the priest kings. Over time, he rebuilds his strength and finds new allies in the skaven, mutant ratmen that live beneath the earth.

Nagash must call upon all his reserves of power to defeat a skaven assault and continue his unholy reign in Nagash Immortal. When he realises he can use his enemy for his own nefarious needs, an uneasy alliance is struck and a vast, nightmarish army is formed.
