Dario, a young pilot of the private plane belonging to the Canevari family, a powerful industrial family in the area, is poisoned along with two girls who spent the evening with him at a country house on the banks of the Sile River. It is at this point that deputy prosecutor Emilio Girotti from Treviso returns to investigate, having to do everything alone, overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles and break through the wall of silence in a town that is afraid.
